Founder of Ger-Nis Culinary & Herb Center and Herbal Roots, Nissa Pierson, loves her tacos. Having grown up on them in Southern California experienced the flavors & varieties of tacos offered in Central America, Mexico, South America and beyond starting at age 12. Vegetable tacos are a regular component to her diet and are always being cooked up fresh in her household. At 12, she learned love for the land and its people during her time in Nicaragua which in turn played a role in becoming a passionate advocate for fair-trade, organic products. A well noted culinary instructor & food and recipe writing contributor to many publications, her affection for tacos can only be surpassed by her love of fresh herbs. She spends a great deal of time traveling the world seeking fresh herb & organic conversation with a deep need to promote sustainable agriculture in all that she does. In full disclosure she works with Spinaca Farms in New Business Development and Marketing. Her goal for Spinaca and La Colline is to get them a La Colline Taco truck so she can cruise around the PMA serving up her good grub! Besides being a passionate teacher in fresh herbs, organics, local and fair-trade food and agriculture, she enjoys good conversation & debates, yoga, road trips, the ocean and submersing herself in the food and culture of the world!
