In our seasonal soup and sandwich classes, we aim to unlock the door to creating fantastic soups and sandwiches year round! We can’t think of a better summer sandwich than the grilled cheese or a better soup than a cool tomato variety- we know how much grilled cheese likes to take a dip in the tomato pool on a hot day- we’ve caught it on tape. Perfecting the grilled cheese is a matter of relying on high quality, flavorful ingredients from artisanal, homemade bread relying on whole grains sandwiching the best, most fresh cheese; then, the method of grilling hones the sandwich into the ideal. Paired with a soup that needs little more than the rich, complex flavors found in heirloom tomatoes offered at the farmer’s market at this time of year, you might come up with a summer dance dedicated to this divine soup and sandwich pair. You’ll learn all about heirloom tomatoes, why they are so fantastic tasting, what makes them unusual and how great they are for biodiversity, being a few topics we’ll cover. Learn how to refresh yourselves this summer using whole ingredients to make the perfect artisanal grilled cheese and heirloom tomato soup, supporting your local artisans and farmers while enjoying the finer things, and flavors, in life! To top it off, we’re preparing a delightful herbal iced tea and olive aioli to spread on that sandwich baby!

She approaches life head-on, believing that whatever one does in life one should do at full capacity. Noted Marketing Expect, Accredited Recipe Writer, and Herb Farming Extraordinaire, Nissa Pierson has led the way for Ger-Nis International LLC for nearly a decade, pioneering a new course for Fair-Trade & Organic Fruit and Vegetable Distribution. This cat proves that an active curiosity actually just makes you better prepared for the many things life throws at you. This curious approach led her to tending giant basil fields in the California landscape which turned into selling herbs on massive scales for others which turned into selling herbs on massive scales for herself and their growers which, in turn, gave birth to the center we know and love today. She craves travel, seeking fresh herb and organic conversation throughout the world. Nissa is a self-taught cook, employing truly tried-and-true techniques not found in so many other places, lending a deliciously, unique quality to every dish she prepares.
