Kick off your shoes, turn up the heat- its gay pride week, and we’re celebrating at Ger-Nis with a festive gay-friendly cooking class designed to lift our spirits, heighten the mood and take pride in all things gay and all things American! We’ll focus on summer Fourth of July entertaining go to dishes, using seasonal local ingredients that require little to no hassle preparation. Yes, we’re getting fresh with these dishes- highlighting the freshness of the ingredients is all that it takes to make a dish supremely titillating! Raise your glass as we pair this season’s party with wine, making for a truly classy Fourth of July party! We’ll be featuring summer wines from Long Island’s Bedell Winery! Bedell’s Trent Preszler will be our “spirited” wine guide for this sultry summer journey in flavors. We will be tasting and drinking some of Bedell’s finest wines pairing them with our summer concoctions! Set the fireworks ablaze, lighting up the summer nights with red, white and bubbly local wines from the north forks best and oldest sustainable winery and classic summer foods that celebrate all the fresh produce available at this time of year, taking us to new heights!

Trent Preszler

Trent Preszler is the CEO of Bedell Cellars, a 100-acre sustainable vineyard and winery located on the North Fork of Long Island, New York. He was raised on a cattle ranch in South Dakota and later earned degrees in agriculture from Iowa State University, Edinburgh University (U.K.), and Cornell University, where he is also a Ph.D. Candidate in Viticulture and frequent guest lecturer.
