The best time to introduce your kid to the role that food plays in the world around them is as early as possible, fostering a healthy relationship between them and what eventually ends up on their plates! That is where the Ger-Nis Kids in the Kitchen Sustainable Food Camps step in. Food affects every step of our life experience, and few know this truth better than those who work with food for a living, promoting sustainable foods using innovative technology to spread the word! Kids love to dream of what they’re going to be when they grow up, and listening to the nontraditional jobs is extra exciting! This class provides the unique and exciting opportunity for them to explore new horizons in the world of food as a career, letting their creative juices ooze from their minds to take food photographs, learn about food styling, create innovative recipes, and blog about food! They’ll hear about how people have turned their love of local, organic food into a business from guest bloggers, food photographers, stylists and food writers, focusing on recipe creating using fresh herbs to make fresh herbal pestos and dips as well as local summer fruit sodas. The recipes we create alongside the photos your kids will take will be posted forever on our website alongside their names! Kids take home an 8 x 10” glossy photo of the best shot they take plus the recipes they’ve created!
