The Ger-Nis Summer Social Club is all set to take you on an exciting Bouldering journey with us! As we try to experience all that our borough has to offer in terms of fun and flavor! We’re taking the Social Club to new heights, pushing ourselves to the physical extreme with the comfort of expert rockclimbing guides from Brooklyn Boulders, the premier rockclimbing facility of New York City. We assume that many of you are like us and haven’t tried this amazing place RIGHT in our own backyards! The thing about this foodie meet-up is, who doesn’t want to climb as high as we possibly can, experiencing life and all of its offerings at a whole new altitude? What better way than under the wing of professional rockclimbing instructors and like-minded persons like the hungry for a challenge employees of Ger-Nis? We have arranged for us to take the beginning class , “ Learn The Ropes Class”, where we
Learn introduction to climbing for beginners or novices like us looking to gain some basic knowledge and skills. The class teaches basic knots, top rope safety, and belay technique – anything you need to know to be able to safely use the top ropes at BKB. The class comes as part of two packages. The Learn the Ropes package features two day passes ($44 value), one equipment rental ($10 value), and the belay class ($45 value) and costs $75. We’ll work up an appetite while rockclimbing and trot on over to Palo Santo for some Latin culinary relief where we can relax after our work out and get to know one another of the ropes!
*Ger-Nis Summer Social Club will meet at Brooklyn Boulders at 6:45 PM, afterwards we’ll head to Palo Santo to refill our bodies with some tasty sustenance

Managing director of Ger-Nis International, Nissa Pierson, loves a challenge, experiencing new ways of life, other cultures and learning more to understand how others experience their daily lives. In addition to running Ger-Nis, Nissa is a long-time culinary instructor, specializing in fresh herbs. Besides being a passionate teacher of fresh herbs, organics, & fair-trade, she enjoys spice (in food and life), good conversations and debates, kickboxing, surfing, and submersing herself in the food and cultures of the world.
