The Ger-Nis Summer Social Club rolls in this summer, putting our best foot forward so we can wade in all of the raved about foodie hotspots and other off-the-beaten path foodie destinations that tempt us along the way, offering amazing deals all summer long with our fellow sustainable foodie folk. Rocky Sullivans oozes local appeal, having been a mainstay in the Irish Pub scene in Manhattan back when. When Rocky of Manhattan closed, loyal patrons banded together and brought Rocky to Red Hook, where the Irish Pub now lives on! Every Friday evening, Rocky goes global in mind but local in fare, offering a $25 Pre-Fixe dinner featuring fresh lobster from the Red Hook Lobster Pound, artisan-crafted beer from Six Point Ales and fresh, seasonal produce from Added Value Farms! Sustainability at it’s finest here and for an amazing bargain! Each Friday, Rocky mixes up the composition of the meal based on availability of quality ingredients, keeping it fresh, keeping it local but with a global flare. Ger-Nis Summer Social Clubs members can enjoy a beer on Ger-Nis! Take it easy this Friday with an old Manhattan staple and a new Brooklyn favorite, Rocky’s, learn more about what it’s all about and get to enjoy local Red Hook offerings while learning more about all the like-minded foodies in our community!

One of our newest members of the Ger-Nis Culinary Team, hailing from Montreal and definitely adding a zest of French into our French farm country repertoire here at Ger-Nis. She runs the ins and outs of the classes for the center and is a highly organized person on top of great, great fun! You’ll see her riding around Brooklyn on her road bike… avoiding the subway whenever possible! On weekends she’s usually seeking sunshine and an intriguing snack worth of traveling to… or reading in a quite shady spot, somewhere in the nooks of Brooklyn. She’s also a magnet for the food trucks and food markets around town. She will definitely be a heck of a food guide this summer while we social up around town! Contact Genevieve
