We’re celebrating all things BBQ this summer at the Ger-Nis Summer BBQ Bonanza, skewering the season with some grilled greatness. What makes BBQ something special to savor is in all of the little details spices provide. We’ll trot along the global trail of spices, to discover how to dot your grilled meats, seafood, veggies, whatever really, with a broad slew of different ethnic spices in BBQ sauce! We’ll introduce you to the practice of knowing how to draw out the best possible flavor with the right spices, touching on how to perfectly balance flavors without becoming overpowering when preparing your sauce. We’ll focus on making sauces that’ll pull on your heart strings, learning the different flavors certain spices lend and how to match the flavors with others to make the best tasting sauces. You’ll learn how spices add a gourmet touch and depth to every BBQ dish, more about the merits of organic, fair-trade and freshly ground spices, spice combinations both simple and complex to use in preparing sauce on a variety of grilled foods and the tricks behind developing the best spiced sauce… You’ll see how to stock a cupboard full of spices to have on hand to whip up the best BBQ sauce for every grilling occasion!
