A man who cooks is a man who knows, human experience has said. All humans can be exquisite chefs, and the vast world of men in New York City can stand to enlist further cooking skills. This class is dedicated to all of the men out there who long to know what aspects of their cooking can be improved upon, leaving no room for failure on any scale. We’re calling on the men here to create equilibrium of chefs and cooks in the US alongside women. In certain cultures, men have done all of the cooking while women have done all of the collecting. Men will learn how to prepare ingredients for seasonal dishes in an efficient, quick and tasty manner and then learn how to assemble these ingredients into a world class composition. We will basically jam pack the class and learn everything one needs to know, including how to be creative in the kitchen Everything coming out of this class promises to be a tried and true asset to a man’s cabinet of skills, and everyone can handle the delicacies that move forward from these newfound skills. No girls allowed in this class as we want your guys to have a comfortable place to experiment and learn!

Managing Director the Ger-Nis Culinary & Herb Center, Nissa Pierson, is the utmost of a food enthusiast in the kitchen and knows a thing or two about teaching men to cook and cooking with men. She has four brothers and lived with her father as a child so she was the only girl amongst a house of men! Pierson began her food journey with this brood of men as a child in Central America later to open Ger-Nis International LLC, a fair-trade, organic fruit & vegetable distribution company with an emphasis on fresh herbs. To further her desire to teach others about healthy living and eating, Pierson opened the Ger-Nis Culinary & Herb, specializing in a wide range of recreational cooking and educational classes for adults and children; promoting healthy eating and living habits through hands on and lecture style classroom environments. She is fully committed to the community, as well as the planet, focusing on the entire cooking and eating process, from grower to “cooker.” Besides being a passionate teacher of fresh herbs, organics and fair-trade, she enjoys spice (in food and life), good conversation and debates, kickboxing, the ocean and surfing, and submersing herself in the food and culture of the world.
