As the skies turn grey and cloudy and the thermometer continues to plunge, often that warm, fuzzy sweater just doesn’t cut it – we need comfort food, and stat. While we can’t stop snacking altogether (and why on earth would we want to?!), we can make that second, third and forth dip back into the cabinet a lot more guilt-free. Join us at Ger-Nis for our fun and delicious healthy comfort food class, and we’ll show you just how easy it is to whip up some scrumptious delights that’ll satisfy your sweet, salty, cheesy-gooey or sour cravings – every munch and crunch – without stacking on those extra winter pounds. Teach yourself and your kids to indulge the healthy way, fulfilling comfort and flavor needs without loads of butter, calories and fat! We are not making zero calorie or fat free food here but we are making lighter versions of some of the fattest and calorie laden as well as a few extra light recipes! Sometimes its just about the portion sizes as well so we will show you how to make mac and cheese in ramekins in order to reduce calorie intake all while reducing the calories in the recipe as well. So come join us for comfort with half the calories!

Recipes: Roasted Tomato Soup & Grilled Cheese Pesto Sandwiches, Ramekin Herbal Mac & Cheese, Hearty Chipoltle Chili & Cheese, Whole Wheat Cranberry-Pear Pie Pockets

Class Type: Individual, hands-on cooking class

Class Notes: Learn the art of filling up with hearty winter comfort food without bukko calories!
