A native of California, Nissa spent part of her childhood in Central America and has had the travel bug ever since. Her extensive travels have taken her all over the world but she always returns to her Latin roots, especially when it comes to food! For this class Nissa wants to share the cuisine that is closest to her heart as she dabbles in the idea of opening a Latin restaurant and bar in the near future. It’s going to be a big party and everybody gets to help cook and make cocktails if they want to. Only kicker is you must bring a bottle of something for the Ger-Nis liquor cabinet, cheap, expensive, doesn’t matter we won’t discriminate. There are several liquor and wine stores around so if you show up without a bottle we will totally give you a map!
Nissa will prepare over five types of salsas to show the depth and diversity of flavors one can create for these simple side dishes and of course it wouldn’t be a taco night without tacos! There will be two meat and two vegetarian options of tacos prepared, both equally as flavorful, in addition some healthy chips Nissa is infamous for. True to Nissa’s greenmarket and herbal style, a trio of seasonal cocktails will be prepared that highlights the freshest flavors of the beginning of summer.
