Rang in the New Year & now your ears are ringing? Braved the bubbly channels toward midnight and flooded your whistle a few hours beyond? Ger-Nis knows what you did last night and is here to help you get your groove back and learn something at the same time, which is our signature style. Come along and discover edible hangover cures (on the healthier side of course) to mend those aches and pains. Instructor Nissa Pierson will guide you in preparing hangover remedies and give you insight, history and perhaps a little folklore into these “cures” for the morning after pain all too dominant on the first day of a brand new year. So get up out of bed and spend the first day of 2013, learning something and just maybe a little hair of the dog will get your blood pumping! We have all the remedies and tricks covered from the caffeine jolt to, potassium packed bananas, herbalized ice water with honey and of course our favorite remedy of them all, the hair of the dog. Western remedies will be present, like greasy, salty and fatty foods (although we take it down a notch or two for health). Spicy Latin remedies will bring in the extreme heat. We may not recommend mixing alcohol while out celebrating but we do condone mixing sweet and savory for another hangover cure, as well cheese. They say cheese is an ultra absorber of the alcohol and therefore when we combine it with carbs, another “sopper upper”. We put our own healthy twist on the remedy and use tons of fresh herbs filled with antioxidants and tomatoes. With a wonder remedy filled with vitamins and minerals, the alcohol depletes and with high amounts of fructose causes the body to metabolize quicker. So come on in for a tune up and over all health boost and start the year off right, and have a little fun. Not only will we provide your body with the goods it craves on the day after possible debauchery, but you will be well ahead of the others as far as kitchen savvy and know how in 2013! Happy New Year!
