Living in an urban environment, there are endless opportunities to just bring home some take out and be done with it; but, in Bolinas we don’t have that luxury and we must make our own take out!  Dim sum is, in many ways, an ideal take out food – you can choose from many different options and put together a meal that exactly satisfies your current craving. Imagine if you knew how to create all those tasty dumplings yourself, using the high quality, locally sourced and seasonal ingredients that you know are best. Once you mastered the various techniques, including pan fried dumplings and the steamed dumplings, you could fill them with anything that you dream up, from Chinese BBQ pork to miso ginger glazed vegetables. This is one of the most popular classes in our “Make Your Own Take Out” series, you’ll learn the basics that will allow you to play with local ingredients and Asian flavors to create your own, perfect dim sum. As we like to say, it’s more convenient in the long run to know how to do it yourself.
