Freshen and brighten up your summer with Thai food, mangoes and cocktails! Thai food relies upon the freshest ingredients around to make its dishes really sing so we’ll be using the freshest summer garden goods around.  You’ll learn the secret freshness of Thai in this class as we work with simple, raw ingredients- tons of fresh herbs- that are packed with flavor as well as ZING. Simple, fresh concepts applied to your cooking keep you fit, healthy, and alive (all spiced up!). Strong, aromatic components define Thai dishes, their spicy yet balanced in flavor. We’ll learn how simple it is to perfect Thai and begin to demand more than the greasy, soupy take out we often see at fast food style Thai restaurants. This class emphasizes fresh herbs, chilies,  mangoes and fresh vegetables in herby rolls to zesty and crunchy salads. We’ll even make some fresh Thai condiments to boot and top the class off with some fresh Thai style dessert!  And because we can, the class is full of mangoes and cocktails!

Cocktails: Ginger-Red Curry Mango-Peach Sparkling Sangria,  Green Tea Mango & Cucumber Gin Coolers with Thai Basil Pesto Ice

Recipes: Mango & Herb Garden Summer Rolls with Fresh Sweet Chili Sauce, Cold Garden Pad Thai Salad, Thai Cucumber & Pepper Salad with Roasted Chili Peanuts,  Mango Coconut “Sweet” Chutney over Lime Granita

Class Type: Individual, hands-on cooking class!

Nissa Pierson is always looking to expanding ways by which people avoid purchasing processed foods and goods that are filled with ingredients we cannot pronounce nor begin to fathom, loaded with bad fats and high in sodium. It just so happens when you make Thai food from scratch, you’ve achieved freshness in all its glory including whipping up condiments from scratch in a pinch! Founder  of Ger-Nis  Nissa is a long time culinary instructor and lover of fresh herbs.
