Bolinas Happy Hour! A Cocktail Making Workshop

Ger-Nis and its founder, Nissa are known for farm to table, herbaceous cocktails and in this workshop we give Bolinas a taste of that botanical medicine. The medicine not only comes in the form of vibrant and dare we say “healthy” cocktails, but most importantly it comes in the form of mad cocktail making skills, skills you can repeat at home for your friends. We will teach you to shake, stir, strain and infuse your drinks. You will learn the art of making a good shrub, fruit, vegetable and spice based syrup as well as learn how to balance everything with the bevy of citrus that’s available to us  here locally in the dead of winter. You’ll leaving knowing what the best glass is, that you already have and what is the most practical means for ice, again reasonable for the home drinker. Regardless if you fancy sweet or acidic, we wills how you how to craft your cocktails at home like your favorite mixologists!

We will use the locally crafted spirits by expert distillers we just happen to have in our Marin backyard and all seasonal, local, organic ingredients as is the Ger-Nis way. You will even learn the fine art of the cocktail garnish which is essentially knowing when too much is too much (a hamburger and lobster tail for instance is too much!) Fresh herbs will flow, as is our signature style and you will leave a master of your own taste with the skills to impress yourself every TGIF thereafter.

Plenty of herbal snacks will abound and the workshop is truly meant to be a happy hour where we can all mix and mingle as we learn!

Herbal Nibbles: Smoke & Spice Herbal Nut Mix, Winter Garden Crudité Cups with Nissa’s Herbal Goddess Dressing, Curried Chicken Kabobs with Spicy Herbal Sambal,  Crostini and Dip Di Jour, Rosemary Brownie Bites

Founder of Ger-Nis, Nissa Pierson thoroughly enjoys her time to play, and cocktails are one subject matter she loves to get experimental with. A lover of infused alcohols and enhanced fresh ingredients using spices and herbs, she has come to prepare custom cocktails on a whim that will satisfy nearly every taste! Nissa believes in making great use of seasonal items which sometimes finds itself in seasonal, local beverages to enjoy! In her rare free time, she moseys around the world in search of clear seas and  interesting conversation, visits  growers, and teaches her old dog new tricks. She is a long time culinary instructor and lover of fresh herbs.  Contact Nissa
