We are welcoming back one of our most popular series with this hands-on cooking class, where we literally cook from some of the latest and greatest cookbooks -as well as old faithful ones too. Students leave abuzz with the best takeaways from each cookbook we feature and more importantly they leave with a  brand new copy of the book!

This spring we feature one of our favorite cookbooks that’s crossed our path in a very long time. Bottom of the Pot: Persian Recipes and Stories is a deeply personal memory style cookbook by Nez Deravian, an award winning writer  and Persian food blogger, Bottom of the Pot and actor born in Iran. She grew up in Italy, and Canada and currently resides in Los Angeles with her husband and two children. She shares a number of tantalizing recipes through stories and personal antidotes throughout the headnotes, intros and the recipes themselves.  For anyone who has ever experienced Persian food, this book will make you deeply nostalgic and equip you with the tools to recreate the nostalgia and for those that have never experienced real Persian food, you are in for a real treat. The herbaceous recipes in this book are utterly perfect for Spring! The roulette cake will not be made in class due to time constraints but will be served with the meal.

Recipes: Sharbat-e Golab (Rose and Lime Sharbat), Arugula Orange Fennel Salad, Cucumbers and Dalaar (Green Herb Salt), Chelo ba Tahdig (Steamed Persian Recipe with Tahdig), Khoresh Ghormeh Sabzi (Fresh Herb stew), Naan-e Barbari, Barbari Bread, Roulette Cake

Class Type: Series, Ger-Nis Cooks the Books!

Class Notes: Price includes a brand-new copy of the cookbook.
