Ger-Nis Supper Club celebrates the connection between food and agriculture and reminds eaters of the importance of those who grow the food we eat and cook as well as educates on the diverse cultures from where our food derives.  Its and intoxicating and captivating educational experience that is not only unique but inspires participants to continue to ask questions about food and people and the connections between them.

This summer we celebrate Mexico and Crespo Organic Mangoes and help kick off Summer Mango Mango…..So come spend an evening with us in Bolinas celebrating organic food and agriculture of Mexican and mangoes– adorn yourself in your most dashing attire and indulge in a sensuous evening of food, wine, music and culinary art.

The supper club, happening once a season and usually available to only a small gathering of 18-20  of  guests,  but we have enlarged it for this special indoor/outdoor party featuring:

  • A chef prepared decadent, nonpareil buffet style (and mostly) authentic Mexican feast
  • Music (maybe live) peppering the air
  • Local, seasonal, Mexican and mango centric libations
  • Art raffle (Forged Silver & Bronze Mango Forks by Curtis Major- Locust House)
  • The menu will include local, organic, sustainable, and fair-trade products from farmers, artisans, and purveyors of Marin and neighboring counties to show support for the community and local food production

Nissa Pierson

Nissa Pierson is a noted herb expert and founder of Ger-Nis Culinary & Herb Center and Herbal Roots. An agricultural consultant, cooking instructor, food writer and recipe developer with over 20 years experience, she specializes in local,  sustainable, organic and fairly traded fruits, vegetables and herbs. Though mostly self-trained as a chef, Nissa has been taught and influenced by countless women in rural kitchens spanning  the globe. Rooted deeply in Latin America, after spending a significant amount of her childhood and adult life there, she travels in search of food and cultural knowledge, working to boost small global growers and their sustainability and profitability. Her international consulting business and culinary artistry emphasize farmers and the communities in which food is produced. Her food marketing work brings these stories and connections to life.  Her greatest passion is fresh herbs and the people that use and grow them. They are a staple of Nissa’s cooking endeavors and a symbol of her creative spirit since the beginning. This creativity in the kitchen is a direct result of the openness with which she approaches the world. She puts a great deal of time and attention towards teaching children to cook and has developed a kid-centric curriculum fueled by ease and joy.In addition to traveling the world seeking fresh herb conversations, her current focus is on consumer culinary education for organic mangoes.
